L.A. County Corrects Its Fact Sheet – CCA Business Plan Delayed

IMG_7687

The beautiful South Pasadena Library and Community Center

Like most members of the LA County CCA Task Force we were disappointed at the July 14 monthly meeting in South Pasadena, that the team responsible for delivering the Feasibility Study and Implementation plan for the Los Angeles County Community Energy program missed their deadline and had no new information for the Task Force to review or discuss.  We are told that the reports – which were requested by the LA County Board of Supervisors in September of 2015 – will be delivered “Any day now” but no specific date has been promised.

Last week we published the Los Angeles County Community Energy Fact Sheet produced by the County’s CCA consultants and we were so excited to read about the renewables, distributed energy resources, local focus, jobs and economic development that it took us a while to notice that there was a mistake in the chart depicting Southern California Edison’s current energy portfolio mix.  It showed the Large Hydro portion of the portfolio at 27% instead of the 3% SCE’s Power Content Label shows it to be:

2016-07-19_13-23-25

Pretty amazing that 40% of the mix is listed as “unspecified sources of power.”

Here’s the County’s corrected chart:
